Sports and Exercise Cardiology

The objective of the Sports Cardiology is to work with the athletes along the spectrum competitive exercisers, professional athletes to weekend warriors to help them achieve these goals.

Sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) is the one of the main reasons of death in exercising young athletes, and is generally set off by problems such as structural heart disorders or electrical circuitry issues which are not generally found during routine physical examinations. Most of the conditions that cause sudden cardiac death in young athletes are determined by an electrocardiogram (ECG or EKG), a non-invasive test which calculates the electrical activity of the heart.
