Pediatric Cardiology

Pediatric Cardiology is a branch of Pediatrics that deals with heart and heart related disorders of children/Pediatrics. Basically heart is the first internal organ formed from the cells of the Inner Cell Mass (ICM) or epiblast of the blastocyst in early embryogenesis. The role of Pediatric cardiologists includes medical diagnosis and treatment of congenital heart defects, coronary artery diseases, heart failures, valvular heart diseases and electrophysiology in children/Pediatrics.  A medical practitioner who specializes in this field of Pediatric cardiology is Pediatric cardiologist.
